Is there anything cuter than dinosaur pajamas? I mean, really? Especially matching dinosaur pajamas. Thanks to their Grammy and Papa for sending them to us.
Note that Calen is always holding Camden's hand/arm. This is not for affection. This is to keep Little Brother from taking off. He is never interested in holding still for photo ops.
Also, I have no idea why Camden looks the same size as Calen in this picture. He is most definitely smaller....

Calen's Pirate Party
So even though Calen's birthday isn't until next Wednesday, today we had his 4th birthday party with his friends that was (per request) pirate themed. I'm tired guys, so there isn't a lot of dialogue here. Just a lot of pictures. And maybe some captions.

| So, while everyone was busy watching Calen open presents, Camden sat and everyone's seat at the table, one at a time, and ate all their food. |

The First Day of Almost Kind Of Maybe Spring
Hey guys? It's spring!
Or not.
With a high of 48 today and that four letter word (snow) in the forecast tonight/tomorrow, I, like most of the country, refuse to believe that backstabbing no good lying groundhog that claims that spring started today.
Believe it or not though, a tiny window of opportunity of life opened up this afternoon where the wind died down and the sun pretended to be warm, so we actually celebrated "almost" spring by playing outside.
And Calen was just full of expression today.
And Camden pulled a wagon.
Or not.

A Boy And a Comic Book (and a Smart Phone)
While Calen was at preschool today Camden and I played upstairs. He found one of my Calvin and Hobbes books, tossed it up on my bed and proceeded to "read" it. And it was really cute. Especially since he reminds me of the mischievous Calvin.
Of course by the time I actually got my camera he had lost interest, so I had to recreate his excitement of the book by strategically placing my phone (with a children's app loaded on the screen) into the open book. So it looks like he was still interested in it and I could get the shot. Which turned into watching Sesame Street on my phone in his belly which made even more cute pictures.
Half of a good photo is recreating what was cute before the camera was available anyways, right?
Also, aren't those the cutest monster pajamas in the history of ever?? I love Costco.

Floundering
You guys, it's been like, five months since we've been outside. I swear.
I'm running out of things to blog about. Every day is a rinse and repeat, except it's indoors where the lighting is terrible and let's face it, pictures of the kids playing Legos or Matchbox cars and watching Disney Junior isn't really as exciting as them playing in the pool or back yard.
I didn't even pick up my camera today.
Yawn.
Usually by this time of year we are starting to emerge from hibernation. The weather isn't warm but it isn't intolerable either. But, according to the brains in the national weather think tank, the temperatures this month are over 10 degrees lower (minus wind chill, no less) than they usually are. We haven't seen a clear day over 45 degrees since October.
We're floundering in our boredom.
Tomorrow, I have a whole host of interesting Pinterest arts and crafts for the kids to do and take pictures of.

Honorary Irish
We're not Irish. Not even almost. Not that I don't appreciate corned beef and Guinness and leprechauns and Boondock Saints. I just plum forgot today was Patty's Day.
I didn't even dress the boys in green. Whoops.
So by the time I remembered the day was nearly over and I kind of felt bad that we hadn't partaken in anything involving this sort-of holiday.
So we ate Lucky Charms as our movie-night snack.
Wow. Just call me an honorary Irishman.

So Seriously...
...is it ever going to warm up? This is like the longest winter in the history of ever and I'm over it. And my kids are over it.
Yet another day inside with crabby antsy boys trying to find ways to pass the time without them killing each other or literally whining to death.
Today we colored with window crayons.

The Many Faces of Cam
This kid has the funniest faces. Especially at the breakfast table when he's fresh for the day. Calen says "make a face brother!" and Cam wrinkles his nose and makes faces at him. And then they both laugh.
And nevermind the used banana in his mouth.

The Claw at the "Market"
So did anyone even notice that I didn't blog yesterday?
I didn't think so.
Yesterday was pretty much the epitome of suck and I was in no mood to blog. It was day two of Brad puking, Calen had puked the night before and still had no appetite, Camden was still pooping straight liquid into his diapers and I was horrifically nauseated either from the same stomach virus or from sympathy/sight/smell/hearing the sickness around me.
Calen seemed better yesterday afternoon so I took a risk and decided to let him go to speech. Though during the hour drive my paranoid ass kept turning around every five minutes or so asking him "does your tummy hurt??? Are you going to throw up?"
"NO Mom!" He was annoyed with me.
And wouldn't you know it, 3 miles from our exit on the parkway, all lanes were CLOSED due to an accident. I sat there for 20 minutes and they still wouldn't open up. So we drove up there in a typhoon while feeling pukey for nothing. I called speech and canceled the appointment and thankfully they didn't charge me for canceling. But we were still stuck in the middle of the parkway!!
Luckily, my truck has awesome 4 wheel drive and brand new all-terrain tires. I threw that bitch in 4WD and drove through the muddy median until I found a police u-turn and whipped into the Southbound lanes. I get an A for Awesomeness.
So, we went to Target (Calen calls it "the Market". I don't know why. It rhymes). That's a pretty good consolation prize if you ask me.
Of course we couldn't even get through the front door without stopping at the soul-sucking seasonal/dollar section and putting 145 things we don't need in the cart.
And this time, they had a "claw". You know, one of those extended claw arm pinchy things. And it's a pretty good working one too. Calen thought it was awesome (and so did I).
I didn't realize that the "Claw" was going to be Calen's new arm for the duration of our shopping trip. He was trying to snatch shoes, clothes, toys, people, anything, everything. Which was really funny but we had to have a discussion about not reaching out to pinch other people's boobs (which I don't think he was actually going for but it really did almost happen).
Oh and we're almost healthy. Well we are all healthy except for me who I believe is coming down with a sinus infection because my teeth hurt and that is tell-tale for me. Which means I went from a cold to a tummy virus to a sinus infection without a single day in between.
Neat.
