Calen's hot bat might be all I'm talking about these days, but listen. We've been waiting for this confidence to bloom since he was 9 years old. He's due. He's very, very due. He's hitting with a bigger bat (heavier, slower, surprising for him because he usually comes around late). He's getting hits off of "star" pitchers. It's amazing to see, and I'm soaking it all up.
It's also the only thing I'm really able to enjoy right now as I'm cleaning houses before and after said games.
And for the first time all season, it was sunny for his game!
Well, no it wasn't. It was brighter, higher cloud cover, that didn't involve rain. So it's almost sunny. It was still stupidly cold and windy, but we'll take what we can get.
Sox went 2-3 with a BOMB single to center field and an RBI single later in the game. Currently? His batting average is .360 with a .515 on base percentage and .440 slugging. Dude.
He also made two sweet outs at second base, which seems to have become his new starting position.
As a former second baseman in softball, I approve of this message.
