Like, melt your face off 200 degrees in the middle of October hot.
We were forced to spend four hours of midday heat outside with no shade watching the kids' back to back baseball games. By the end of it we could have competed in a (disgusting) wet t-shirt contest and we crawled to our cars like contestants of the next Survivor show.
Okay it wasn't that hot. But it was hot.
We came home and immediately changed and went to the pool, because that's what you do in the middle of October.
But since it really is October and we want it to be we pretended it was actually fall and made super delicious apple monkey bread with the kids. Except I don't own a bundt cake pan which is against the law or something, so we improvised with some normal cake pans with mixing pyrex bowls inserted in the middle.
Hey, fake it till you make it. Just like fall in California.
