If axe throwing immediately following a church service doesn't scream Alaska, I don't know what does.
Since it was the Baptist Mission that set up the Bushcraft Weekend, we decided to attend that morning's church service. Immediately following service, the Mission offered a super fun grand finale to the Bushcraft camp by having competitions in Firestarting, Axe throwing and Archery.
This was a great way for the kids to show off their newfound skills to all us adults.
Calen participated in Axe Throwing and Archery, and Cam participated in all three, "Because why not", he said.
Cam scored second in firestarting, and Calen received special recognition (and a prize) for having unmatched and outspoken sportsmanship and encouraging every single kid at camp.
I never expected anything less from him.
