Christmas Town (aka Leavenworth, WA)

We're a few days into our Washington trip and are making our rounds visiting family. Yesterday we arrived at the little town of Leavenworth, tucked deep into the Cascade mountains, where my grandparents live.

Leavenworth is like the ultimate place in the whole world to celebrate Christmas. Leavenworth is Christmas. The themed architecture of all the buildings is German/Bavarian, and during this time of year every tree, building, street lamp and bush is covered in Christmas lights and decorations. There is a nutcracker museum and an ultimate Christmas decor store and tons of stores filled with fudge and other treats. And since it's in the middle of the mountains and a mere 30 minutes from a ski lift, there is (almost) always snow this time of year. Not currently, but we are expecting snow tomorrow. You really couldn't ask for a better place to celebrate the holidays.

So today once it got dark we bundled up the boys, put them in the wagon and walked downtown to look at all the lights. Enjoy the photo dump:
