Washington Santas

Since we always travel home for Christmas, we always tend to wait until we are in Washington before taking the kids to see Santa Claus.

What can I say, Washington has way better Santas than New Jersey.

We always struggle to choose which Santa to go to. Last year we took the boys to see the "real" Santa, who's name really IS Santa Claus (legally), who I went to see as a young girl and who passed every fake Santa test that we read out of a book my cousins and I borrowed from the library about how to tell if a Santa is "real" or not.

The REAL Santa 2011
But this year, the Real Santa was in Texas with family, so we resorted to the Santa that we took Calen to the first two years, a professional studio with an amazing backdrop of Santa's workshop and vintage toys and amazing photo quality.

It was a new Santa who didn't look at good as the first year but he was way better with the kids. He laughed a lot and asked Calen if he would make cookies for him and his reindeer. Calen asked for a pirate ship and a firetruck for his brother. And we got some cute shots.

Magical moments in Santa's workshop.
The BEST part was when we were in the lobby waiting and Santa popped around the corner with his cowboy boots and red suspenders and Calen saw him, gasped, eyes lit up like a Christmas tree and grinned the most amazing magical grin. Santa bent down and had him come see him and Calen RAN to him arms wide out to hug him. Seriously one of those amazing moments where you curse the world for not having a video camera in every corner of every building so that you can keep it forever.
