Walking In A Winter Wonderland

Today was our last day at my grandparents house deep in the Cascades. And it finally snowed. Which means that hauling the kids' snow bibs, boots, jackets, hats and mittens 3100 miles across the country was for an actual purpose.

We took the kids outside this morning to play in the snow/slush (as it couldn't decide whether it was going to snow or rain) in a neighboring empty lot. Calen liked running and throwing himself into the snow, and had his first legitimate snowball fight with Daddy. Cam liked sliding on his belly over the peak of a snow pile over and over. Weird kid.

Then on the drive back over the mountains to my inlaws house, we stopped at the summit of Stevens Pass to play in more snow. Which was actually not a pleasant stroll in a winter wonderland like we had planned, but was more like stumbling half knocked over while it snowed sideways in a horrific blizzard. So after ten minutes we dove back into the shelter of the car.

But the kids got to stomp in the snow and that's all that matters.

Knee deep for Calen at the summit!
