Day 310: Slush Sledding

We are still here at my grandparents house in Leavenworth, and were excited to wake up to a beautiful snow glistened day. Our initial plan was to spend a better part of the day sledding at the infamous "sledding hill" in downtown Leavenworth, so we put on no less than 15 layers of fleece, socks, snow pants, jackets hat mittens etc and waddled our overlayered selves into town.

Unfortunately, we had overplanned, and the powers that be decided it would be a balmy 40 degrees and sunny. We made it to the sledding hill around 11, which by then was very successfully melting.

Well, shit.

Of course, we couldn't let this stop us. We live in California and have to take any advantage to almost play in the snow as possible. So, we shaved off a layer or three, donned our sleds and went sledding down the slushy hill for a solid 2 hours. The kids were absolutely soaking wet but that didn't stop them for having a great time.

A stunning morning!

Let's take a moment to enjoy the slush behind Calen

As we walked back to our car, wet and tired, we found a shady hill next to our car that probably dropped into private property, but who cares? SLEDDING. So we took a few runs down that hill and tried to avoid the trees and being within sight of anyone that might arrest us for illegal sledding or whatever.

The things we do for entertainment.
