Day 315: It's 15 Degrees, So Let's Go To The Beach

It's obviously winter, and we expect it to be chilly here in the greater Seattle area. But, it's rare that western Washington really experiences arctic temperatures for a consistent amount of time.

Until this week, of course, because we are visiting and it needs to show us up.

It was in the low 20s yesterday and today it hit a balmy 15 degrees. The kids, having been used to being outside all year round in California, are dealing with legit cabin fever, combined with winter break (aka brothers that haven't had 5 minutes away from each other in a week and a half), it's turning into the Hunger Games around here and one of them might not survive the other. So Brad decided that they needed to get out of the house, so he decided we'd walk across the street to the bay to play on the beach.

Let's not forget: it's 15 degrees.

So, we bundled up in 17 layers and crossed two frozen creeks and received some sort of frost bite and went down to the beach. The kids threw rocks in the water for a little bit, but after only 20 minutes or so we called it, because it was 15 degrees.

But it sure was pretty.
