We started with a little hiccup in that Calen woke up with a bad stomach ache. But, he wasn't nauseated or anything, and it turned out later in the day a good bathroom visit solved all of his problems. So, we loaded him up with some Gas-X and children's Tylenol and took a quiet scenic walk through Shades of Green's property to the Polynesian Resort next door, where we caught the monorail to Magic Kingdom.
As typical with us at Disney, we open and close the parks. Because if you're going to spend that kind of money, you better be there every moment the parks are open. This was going to be the longest day of the trip, because Magic Kingdom opened at 8am and due to extra magic hours (for resort stayers), it didn't close until 1am.
Can we take a moment and talk about how easy it is to do Disney with slightly bigger kids?? No strollers, no diapers, no cranky kids that didn't get to nap. They walked the entire day, averaging 11 miles a day, with little to no breaks. We only stopped to eat once or twice, usually just eating half a sandwich while standing in line for something. They never complained that they were tired or needed a break. And yet, they were still young enough to be completely enveloped in the magic of Disney.
Pictures are worth a thousand words. But the highlights of this particular day were meeting Mickey and a few other characters, and Calen being picked out of the crowd to do Jack Sparrow's pirate school. And since Calen was showboating and spinning his sword around ready to fight the first mate, Jack Sparrow himself shoved the first mate out of the way and said "this one's mine" and Calen got to fight him instead. Best moment of the day.

While in line for Stitch, we stumbled across a street acapella show. Magic Kingdom is the best. |
