Day 225: Wax Spiders Are The Only Good Spiders

The older the kids get, the harder it is to find good crafty type stuff for them to do. Granted, my kids are really easy to please, but gluing shapes to construction paper doesn't always cut it anymore.

During my stock up of Halloween crafts and artsy fartsy stuff, I found these little $1 pack of wax sticks at Michaels. There's nothing involved with them except peeling the sticks off the plastic sheet, and bending them into various shapes and creations. No instructions, and no permanent gluing, so the sky is the limit with imagination.

Bonus points for them being Halloween colored.

Calen made two spiders out of his wax sticks. Which he's lucky it's wax, because I had temptation to walk over and squash it. The only good spider is a wax spider.

Camden made a "pumpkin patch, with a watermelon (because he had a green stick)".

During this little project the kids ate "apple nachos" (caramel drizzled over apples with sprinkles) and watched Fantasia. Really, it's a good thing they had something to do during it, because the movie is boring for 5 and 7 year olds (and adults, let's face it), and really all I could have done is Youtube the Sorcerer Mickey short and have been done with it.
