Day 230: Peter Pumpkin Patch

First of all, we finished yesterday's pumpkin stamping project with some green paint for vines:

But the main event of the day was family fun day at Peter Pumpkin Patch, which is actually Springhill Dairy farm right next door to the base. They're a much smaller pumpkin patch than the one we went to last week, but it's mostly free which means affordable to go to multiple times this month. They have calves to pet and hay pyramids, a wooden "town", hay rides to their pumpkin patch and u-dig potato patch, and a corn pit. They also have Springhill organic cheeses made right their on their farm and, are you ready, homemade pumpkin ice cream, which is like licking a frozen pumpkin pie. Seriously.

I love the small, charming intimacy of this little farm, and we had a great family morning there.

Photo dump!

Digging for potatoes!
Cam was really into this. He found a ton of red ones that we had for dinner tonight.

Beautiful backdrop to this pumpkin patch

Unfortunately most of the pumpkins looked like this: unripe and attached to the vine.
Corn pits!!!
Do not try this at home, kids.
