Day 81: Elimination, Redemption, and Shenanigans.

It's the main day of the tournament and Kodiak has two tough games to play. The first we got up early for, dressed for success and ready to play. They took a tough loss, but they were definitely better than yesterday.

Ice scupltures of the "hockey handshake" out front

They're ready. Cam is second from right.

After a couple hour break at home, the team came back, dawned their "dress blues" and their war paint, jammed in the lockerroom, and came out swinging, winning their third and final game in dominating fashion, securing the shutout. Due to the standings, Kodiak was eliminated even before this game, but it doesn't matter. This team needed this win, and it felt really good to end the tournament like this.

Danica and Camden. The tallest and shortest on the team, also 4/22/11 birthday twins.

Warpaint ready

One last pregame look of the season.

And that's a wrap, folks! The 2022-23 hockey season is officially over.

Post game, we went out to Chena Lake area and went sledding with Jaclyn and family, because why not?

Cam and Amelia way out in the Tundra

And then, we dumped all the kids with the dads, and RAN FOR IT to Fred Meyer, acting like complete middle schoolers, sitting on the patio furniture, digging through hot wheels, trying on hats and glasses, diving into squishmallow display bins.

We'd be trouble if we lived near each other.
