Ninja School

We're finally starting to get into the fun age where Calen can actually get involved in organized activities. Especially once he turns four in a couple months.

This morning was Calen's very first day of his very first organized "sport", a pre-karate program called "1, 2, 3 Kick With Me". It's designed for 2 and 3 year olds (and one of their parents) to learn the ropes of karate, wear the uniform, go to the dojo and do warmups, group activities and learn basic kicks and punches. Then, once Calen turns four, he gets to graduate into the Little Dragon program, the actual karate program for 4 and 5 year olds that is three times a week (instead of one) that he does without Mom or Dad at his side, earns the belts all that good karate Hi-ya! stuff.

Calen loves ninja school as he calls it (easier for him to understand learning how to be a ninja than trying to explain what karate is for. Preschooler logic is so much more awesome.) I think it's going to be a good outlet for him and a way to help him focus (as we struggle with that).
